Millions of fans of the movie trilogy Back to the Future II watched the first signs of time travel through the windshield of the infamous DeLorean in 1989. For nearly 26 years, fans of the film franchise have been waiting for the exact date of October 21, 2015, the only time Doc (Christopher Lloyd), Marty (Michael J. Fox), and Jennifer (Elisabeth Shue) will travel into the future. And though it isn't really the future, we still share the excitement of pop culture by commemorating National Back to the Future Day today.

Prosecutors had to "predict" what life would be like in 2015 and depict it in the film when Back to the Future 2 made its way to the big screen in 1989. Fans and commentators will compare information between October 2015 in the movie and October 15, the current time, in 2015.

In comparison to Back to the Future 2 and the real year 2015, the predictions were fairly close... In 2014, hoverboards were introduced in 2014, but not for sale until the following year. Flying cars were not invented in their infancy, and they were only driven by those who were inventing them. Flat screen televisions and virtual reality goggles were found everywhere. Jaws unfortunately did not make it to film 19 but rather made it to four movies, Jaws: The Revenge. Interestingly, October 2015 movie time was not much different from October 2015's real time..
