#nationalburntendsday
Burnt ends resulted from the point of a brisket, whether you're trimmings or left-overs. However, these days burnt ends take center stage in a BBQ basket of smoky flavor and goodness.
The name derives from the longer cooking time needed for tender brisket. These thinner points become a little charred and tougher than the majority of the meat.
But don't let that description deter you.. They've successfully mastered burnt ends as a Kansas City tradition, and a craving for them has sprang across the country.
On their own, burnt ends also taste amazing on sandwiches and in stews, and in stews. nd of course smoky. The senses are tantalized by a hint of hickory or cherry. No wonder there is a whole day to commemorate!
