We have the ability to change a person's day by being courteous in a matter of seconds. The person's day in question may even be our own. The following are some items that take no time at all and require virtually no effort:: There are some things that take little time at all and require virtually no effort.
- Noticing someone's signal in traffic and allowing them into your lane, allowing them to pass into your lane
- On your daily walk, pick up the neighbor's newspaper and placing it within easy reach
- Another individual will knock on a door. Another individual will knock
- Give your place in line to the individual with only three items in the line
- Tipping your service employees an extra dollar or two more than you would normally would
- Give a compliment
- Provide a student with a suggestion for a solution.
- Read to a child
- If you are lonely, listen to someone who is lonely

Do something nice. It could be anything from buying a cup of coffee for someone in line at the coffee shop to complimenting the stumbling clerk to the tired clerk. Or asking the neighbors over for a barbecue in the backyard or mowing the lawn for someone, maybe the day calls for sending flowers with a card that says "just because."
