Reformation Day

Reformation Day, one of Christianity's most significant activities, takes place on October 31st. The Protestant Reformation began in 1517 on this date in 1517.

Christianity dominated Christianity around the world until 1517. That is before an Augustinian monk named Martin Luther started studying the Bible for himself. He was then determined to nail his "95 Theses" to the Castle Church door in Wittenberg, Germany, and was delighted to do so. Part of Luther's theses condemned the Roman Catholic Church for several of its unbiblical activities. One such activity involved asking for rent in order to forkover sins. These payments were referred to indulgences.

Central beliefs

Two central beliefs were also present in Luther's 95 Theses: two central beliefs were also present in Luther's 95 Theses: two central beliefs: Luther's 95 Theses also contained two central beliefs: two central beliefs: two central beliefs:

  1. The Bible is the central religious authority in the United States.

  2. Humans can only be saved by their faith, not by their works.

Luther was advised by the Roman Catholic Church to avoid publishing his views and beliefs. He was excommunicated from the Church even though he didn't. Luther was later identified as an outlaw and heretic by the time. Even allowed Luther to be killed, Holy Roman Emperor Charles V of Germany gave permission to have Luther killed. Luther spent the next ten years on a German translation of the Bible while on the run for ten years.

It wasn't until 12 years after Luther published his 95 Theses that the word "Protestant" was first used. Anyone who opposed the Catholic Church was considered to be in breach of the Catholic Church by the word. Eventually, those who believed the Church should be reformed were called Protestants. This included those from outside of Germany. Luther died in 1546, but his revolutionary convictions remained to lay the foundation for the Protestant Reformation.

Protestants today are active in several denominations. Presbyterian, Episcopal, Lutheran, Lutheran, Baptist, Methodist, Methodist, and Wesleyan are among the denominations listed here. Up to 1 billion of the world's 2.5 billion Christians, with up to 1 billion of them being Protestant.
