Some cheetahs are unable to reproduce, which puts their survival even more in jeopardy.

The international cheetah day has a long tradition in the cheetah day.
In 1991, Dr. Laurie Marker, an American zoologist, founded the Cheetah Conservation Fund. In 2010, she designated December 4th as International Cheetah Day. Khayam, a cheetah, was born on December 4th, the birthday of a cheetah named Khayam. This cheetah was trained by Dr. Marker for her first research project on teaching captive-born cheetahs to hunt. When she returned Khayam to the wild, she realized how fragile the cheetahs were becoming.
