On December 28th, the date Congress adopted the Pledge into the United States Flag Code was commemorated.

The Pledge of Allegiance was officially recognized by the Pledge of Allegiance in Congress on December 28, 1945. Francis Bellamy is lauded for drafting the Pledge of Allegiance. The Youth's Companion, a magazine for young people, first published it anonymously on September 8, 1892, under the heading "The Pledge." History has a pledge of allegiance day

Congress has passed the Pledge of Allegiance's national day over the years. Others have failed. Pledge Days, large and small, were held around the world, with emphasis on the pledge, the flag, and the nation as a whole. Those efforts are chronicled below. Movements in grade school have arisen

In the 1970s, a movement that sought to establish Pledge of Allegiance Day on April 30th took root. The date refers to President George Washington's inauguration on April 30, 1789, according to the significance of the date. Mrs. Priore from Cleveland Hill School in Cheektowaga, NY, and their teacher, Mrs. Priore, launched the campaign. Their campaign gained some traction with editorials and articles distributed around the country.. However, their efforts in no way reflected in any continuing observance.

Legisl designations have been assigned to congressional names

In 1982, Congress received a petition for National Pledge of Allegiance Day, but no action was taken.

As Francis Bellamy Pledge of Allegiance Day, the House considered a Joint Resolution to designate September 8, 1988, as the House's same decade. No further action was taken as a result of the document's referral to the Post Office and Civil Service Committee for review, but no further action was taken.
