International Childhood Cancer Day

International Childhood Cancer Day (ICCD), which takes place every year, aims to raise concerns about childhood cancer. (ICCD) is an international youth cancer charity that promotes childhood cancer. The day also promotes help for the families of children with cancer.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 300,000 children between the ages of 0 to 19 are diagnosed with cancer each year. A child dies of cancer every three minutes. The following are some of the most common childhood cancers::

  • Leukemia
  • Brain cancer
  • Lymphoma
  • tumors such as neuroblastoma....

Early detection and appropriate medical care can help prevent cancer deaths, according to healthcare professionals. More than 80% of children with cancer in high-income countries are cured.. The reverse is true in low- and middle-income countries. Only around 20% of children with cancer in these countries have found a cure.

Finding a cure

More work remains to be done to help children in these low- and middle-income countries fight cancer. The United States has the highest incidence of cancer in children. Any child with cancer, regardless of their ethnicity, race, or socioeconomic status, should receive the highest quality care, according to a widely held belief.

The WHO has developed a Global Initiative on Childhood Cancer in order to help more children avoid childhood cancer. The initiative's aim is to have a 60 percent survival rate for children with cancer by 2030. Doing this will save one million lives. Every country must provide quality care for children with cancer in order to achieve this target. Both nationally and internationally, there must be an increased emphasis on childhood cancer at the national and international levels. WHO aims to cure all children with cancer by advocacy, leveraged funding, and governance.
