National Dna Day
People from around the country commemorate National DNA Day on April 25th. In a short letter published in Nature, James Watson and Francis Crick officially announced their discovery of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) on this day in 1953.
Scientists from around the world joined together in 1990 to begin mapping the human genome. Approximately 2000 scientists in six countries will work on determining the nucleotides in human DNA, according to The Human Genome Project, which is also known as The Human Genome Project. The US Senate and House of Representatives declared April 25th as National DNA Day in 2003 as a one-time commemoration.. Each year after 2003, the National Human Genome Research Institute's National DNA Day celebrations have been held each year. Many organisations have also designated April 25th as International DNA Day and World DNA Day since this date, and many organizations have also designated April 25th as International DNA Day and World DNA Day.
