Korean American Day
On January 13, the first Korean immigrants to the United States in 1903 was commemorated on Korean American Day, which commemorates the arrival of the first Korean immigrants to the United States in 1903. The day also honors the Korean American's contributions to every facet of life.
In 1882, the United States and Korea signed a treaty establishing a peaceful relationship, friendship, and commerce. Though many Korean diplomats, students, politicians, and businessmen visiting the United States were compelled to remain, few felt compelled to remain, although this resulted in Korean diplomats, scholars, economists, and businessmen visiting the country, few felt compelled to remain.
On the SS Gaelic, 102 Korean immigrants set sail for Honolulu, Hawaii, but not until December of 1902 on the SS Gaelic. These families pioneered the first wave of Korean immigration, resulting in over 7,500 immigrants in less than two years.
During World Wars I and II and the Korean War, they served their families and their countries. More Koreans immigrated from their homeland during these years; some, as wives to US servicemen, others were adopted as infants; others, as wives to US servicemen.

President George W. Bush declared a commemoration of the arrival of the first Korean immigrants in 2003.. In 2005, the United States House and Senate passed simple resolutions in favor of Korean American Day. Since then, many states around the world have passed bills naming January 13th as the country's annual commemoration of Korean American Day.
