National Cartoonists Day
Each year, National Cartoonists Day honors all those talented ink-stained artists, both past and present, as well as the striking works they have created. Their contributions have brought humor and entertainment into our lives over the years, as well as stimulating discussion and discussion.
Richard Outcault, an American comic strip writer and artist (January 14, 1863 – September 25, 1928), is considered the inventor of the modern comic strip. He studied for three years at the McMicken University's School of Design in Cincinnati, aged 15 years old. He completed his studies at 15 years of age. The Yellow Kid and Buster Brown comic strip The Yellow Kid and Buster Brown were created by Outcault.
The readers of the New York World discovered an exciting new addition to their morning newspaper on Sunday, May 5, 1895. They discovered Outcault's full-color drawings featuring a large-eared, barefoot little boy with a mischievous smile on the pages. Hogan's Alley's first color version of the cartoon would later be known as The Yellow Kid, and was the first commercially successful cartoon icon.
