They made the first Fig Newtons baked at the F. A. Kennedy Steam Bakery in 1891. The company named the pastries after Newton, Massachusetts, Massachusetts, Massachusetts, Massachusetts.
Nabisco was formed by the Kennedy Biscuit Company and the New York Biscuit Company, who were recently affiliated, and the New York Biscuit Company and the New York Biscuit company merged to form Nabisco. Fig Newtons was the new company's trademarked the fig rolls as Fig Newtons.
