WORLD METROLOGY DAY

There was always that one moment in class when someone in class asked the teacher what everyone was asking. han ounces? Why is it that we're measuring our liquids in milliliters rather than ounces?

World Metrology Day is the worldwide recognition of this fact. Scientific societies banded together on May 20th to honor a meeting that occurred on this day in 1875 that established a common measurement system among all nations.

Our scientific measurement device is capable of stretching beyond the boundaries of language, according to World Metrology Day.. Math & science share the commonality of being both essential in the establishment and maintenance of foreign relations.

History

The signature at the Metre Convention, which took place on the 20th of May, 1875, is commemorated on World Metrology Day. The convention brought together a group of seventeen nations who came together to create the framework for global cooperation in the field of scientific measurement. The conference was held in Washington, D.C.

Participants successfully established a global registry that allowed for cohesion among the scientific community, which was the object of this convention. From the beginning of this event, science laboratories can now experience the effects of what was achieved at this event.
