International Caps Lock Day

CAPS LOCK DAY IS INTERNATIONAL CAPS LOCK DAY.

Go on. Type freely and without fear. Take the fast route. It's INTERNATIONAL CAPS LOCK DAY! No one will know if you're shouting, celebrating, or if you always type in all caps.

This year is both October 22nd and June 28th, it appears that the world needs to use the caps lock so much that we're reminded twice a year; October 22nd and June 28th.

International Caps Lock Day pokes fun at the typographical way some Westerners use the caps lock. "The overwhelming majority of the world's population writes in scripts that have no idea of letter casing," the author of the October 22nd date, Derek Arnold, a software programmer from Iowa, was quoted as saying.

That may be true, but the majority of scripts in the world have letter casing. They can be restricted by the language and script, and the rules governing them change. A bicameral script makes the typographical word whether a language uses Greek, Latin, Arminian, Coptic, Coptic, or some others. Even in traditional languages, Eastern languages change between forms and have developed uppercase letters as a way to distinguish works written in katakana.

Caps Lock Day, aside from typography and the writing of written code for languages, provides an opportunity to add humour to our day and perhaps get away with a few shouted texts and tweets.

Use your Caps Lock key but not with abandon, but not with abandon. Although the day's laws may have been thrown out the proverbial window, the day is not designated All Caps All Day Day. Enjoy the memes and post #CapsLockDay on social media...
