History of the international children's book day has influenced the international children's book day
Since 1967, the sponsoring group International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) decides on a theme for the day and selects a member region to host the day. Local writers from the host country are chosen by That region to write a letter to children around the world. An illustrator designs a poster to go with the theme, and the book and reading are used to advertise children's books and reading.
