The idea of coworking dates back to 1995, when hackers in Berlin were looking for a forum where they could exchange ideas and details. The idea of coworking didn't really take off until 2005, however, before 2005. This is when software engineer Brad Neuberg wrote about a website that encourages creators to gather as a group. Tony Bacigalupo, cofounder of New York City's first dedicated coworking space, New Work City, published his own blog on August 7th, 2010. "Browne Neuberg talked about coworking for the first time on Monday," Brad Neuberg wrote on the blog. I believe that date should be the official Coworking Day." From that day on, August 9th has been commemorated as International Coworking Day.
