International Joke Day
On July 1st, the International Joke Day falls at the halfway point in the year.. The day promotes laughter. What better way to begin the second half of the year than by chuckling and with a smile?
The joking generated by a good joke is a universal human experience. A good joke is one way to spark laughter in both cultures and all cultures. With the laughter comes good health. William Fry, a one-minute laughter researcher, said it took ten minutes on a rowing machine for his heart rate to reach its peak after just one minute of hearty laughter.
- Assists you relax like a good massage
- Boosts your immune system and can help fight colds
- Makes you feel good with a boost of endorphins
- Regular exercise improves your cardiovascular system, which helps with heart disease
- Diffuses indignation and rage in situations
The University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore's report found the benefits of laughing at a good joke. The study found that people with heart disease were 40% less likely to laugh in several situations compared to those without heart disease; on the other hand, they were more vulnerable to anxiety and hostility than others without heart disease.
Art of the joke
It's easy to tell a parody. Have you ever heard two people talk differently? Have you ever heard two people talk the same joke differently? Although both authors use the same words and tell the same tale, each one used different pace and voice, each one used different accents and voices. The joke's delivery has as much to do with the joke as the words. Jokes have an element of truth to them, too. And as a magician, the storyteller occasionally uses misdirection to hold the element of surprise at the end..
A variety of quips make us laugh out loud. Laughter is the day's theme, from knock jokes to riddles and long tales with comedic endings.
How to celebrate #internationaljokeday

History of an international joke day has a long tradition..
"I made this day July 1, because the year was officially half over," author and graphic artist Wayne Reinagel's 1994 book "I made this day because the year was over, and I used it to advertise my joke books."
