The Medical Science Liaison Society established International Medical Science Liaison Day in 2020 to raise the profile of the MSL in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and other industries that employ them. Patients' lives are improved because of their involvement.

"Establshing International Medical Science Liaison Day is a way to honor our work and demonstrate our global commitment to the field," MSL Society President Dr. Samuel Dyer said. MSLs have important contributions in the development of science and medicine, which ultimately improves the quality of life for patients living with various diseases and conditions. An official day dedicated to MSLs is a unique way to recognize the profession and raise concerns of the global MSL profession.

"I'm so excited to have March 27th as the first-ever International MSL Day and have this day dedicated to honor MSLs around the world for the outstanding work they do." MSLs play a vital role in patient care education by educating prescribers on the disease state, safety, efficacy, and appropriate use of medications that may lead to improvements in patient care. MSLs are increasingly being consulted for their academic and clinical skills as a trusted source of information for health care professionals..
