However, the first known publication of National Chicken Soup for the Soul Day, published in a magazine called Creative Forecasting, was published in 2002. A resident was given the option to read a Chicken Soup for the Soul book. This publisher creates activity lists for retirement facilities and other organizations. What started as a newsletter in 1989 has since expanded to a magazine and website.
