National Floral Design Day
On February 28th, National Floral Design Day honors floral design's art and history. Floral design has long been a prominent cultural art form for thousands of years. This is the day we commemorate the art form. It may be in a bouquet, painting, in textiles, a garden, or a floral arrangement.
Floral design is a multi-billion dollar industry that enriches our lives on a daily basis.
Florists have a keen eye for color, style, and perspective on everything from majestic, historic gardens to a bridal bouquet on that special day. Floral design can complete a space by complementing existing structures and adding brightness and color to them.
Floral design has ancient roots dating back to Egyptian temple offerings to gods, as with many arts. The design evolved from era to era, with each having distinct customs and traditions.

The national floral design day's history has a rich history
Floral Design Day was created in Boston as a unique way to commemorate Carl Rittner's birthday, the founder of the Rittners School of Floral Design, 60 years ago, in Boston... Mr. Rittner, the floral art education pioneer, is a pioneer in floral art education. The fact that Rittners' idea of a holiday that honors floral design as an art form is a wonderful one whose time has come. So they, as well as Mr. Rittner, wanted to see Floral Design Day continue to be observed as an event in its own right..
In 1995, Governor William F. Weld of Massachusetts declared this day as Floral Design Day.
