National Hemp Day

National Hemp Day weaves a commemoration of an industry with a long and prosperous history on February 4th.

Did you know hemp has been a part of human civilization for thousands of years? Did you know it was a part of human civilization for thousands of years? The world's earliest civilizations used hemp fibers to produce fabric for clothing and other products. Also America's founding fathers drafted early hemp paper. During WWII, the founders of the United States used a "Hemp for Victory" movement to encourage farmers to grow hemp for military use. Since then, hemp has been an important component of many industries' development. For example, hemp is used in many industries, including shipping, building, and textiles. Since it is windproof and has a lower carbon footprint, the construction industry began using hemp instead of concrete (known as hempcrete).

The Industrial Hemp Pilot Program enabled many states to grow, cultivate, and process hemp for agricultural uses. The Industrial Hemp Pilot Program encouraged many states to grow, cultivate, and process hemp for agricultural purposes. Thousands of new jobs were added to an industry that had long been considered obsolete due to the Schedule I classification of hemp (the same classification as heroin and LSD).

The Farm Bill passed in 2018 and the hemp industry won a major victory. Hemp – including the leaves, stalks, and stems – has since been rescheduled to a Schedule V classification, the same as OTC low-dose codeine. Hemp growing, growing, manufacturing, and exporting hemp are all legal on a national basis, as a result. CBD, clothes, plastics, paint, coating, insulation, and biofuels that are made from hemp will now be more widely available. The 2018 Farm Bill's passage has huge growth potential. According to several sources, the hemp industry in the United States will become a multi-billion dollar industry for the United States.
