National Pancake Day

On September 26th, National Pancake Day sets up a tall stack of syrupy goodness to enjoy... Set the table. Set the table. Make the batter by mixing up the batter. Heat up the griddle. Since the butter is set to melt and the flapjacks are delectable, they are delectable.

This batter-made breakfast dish can be found in more than 30,000 years, and it is also known as Johnnycakes, griddle cakes, or hotcakes. In fact, it may be the oldest breakfast food in history..

When revelers would feast before fasting, it became a traditional part of Fat Tuesday (Shrove Tuesday) celebrations. They still do! Fruit and other fillings can be mixed and filled with thin cakes. Usually, though, they're stacked and drizzled with flavored syrup.

Added fruit, nuts, or whipped topping to the bowl. Pancakes, bacon, ham, hashbrowns, and other morning menu items also make a delectable supper, although mostly served as a breakfast dish. A nice change of pace in many households is breakfast for dinner.

DAYS OF NATIONAL PANCAKE DAYS ARE COMING. There are so many ways to enjoy pancakes! Make your favorite breakfast dish or make them at home by adding your favorite syrups and toppings. We even have a few recipes for you to try.. Is there a pancake art? Do you make pancake art? Then we want to see your stack! When you celebrate, post pictures and recipes.

This food holiday's humble roots go back to 2005. Lumberjack Day was the original celebration. Originally, the celebration began as Lumberjack Day. AF Venable, Marianne Ways and Collen AF Venable wanted a reason to eat pancakes and waffles with friends. Since it was one week after "Talk Like a Pirate Day" and that theme had been worn out, eating lots of pancakes like a lumberjack seemed to be a better holiday than ever.
