Peppermint patties were first made by regional confectioneries in the United States as early as 1900. Peter Paul Cadbury purchased the company in 1975 by Peter Paul Cadbury. Cadbury's factory moved to Reading, Pennsylvania, much to the workers and residents of York's dread. The company later exported the popular treat around the country. The company began selling the popular treat.
