NATIONAL PHILANTHROPY DAY – November 15
Wed Nov 15th

National Philanthropy Day

On November 15th, National Philanthropy Day honors those who give back to their families and their communities.

The word philanthropy comes from Latin and Greek philanthropia, which gives us kindliness, humanity, and admiration for mankind. We begin with the philo (tending to, fond of) and join antropos, which refers to humans or human beings.

The way philanthropy changes the world is changing the world

In ways that have a long-term effect, Philanthropists give of their time and resources in ways that have a long-lasting effect.

  • Scholarships, grants, foundations, and other information can help support education
  • Scientific research is supported by the Foundations for Scientific Research
  • Charities are thriving in the United States
  • Programs for local, regional, and international needs are funded by the Foundation for local, national, and international needs
  • Artist grants and foundations are often used to promote art by grants and foundations
  • Invest in advocacy platforms for the homeless

For their many contributions, support, and good deeds, as well as the changes that they have made in our lives and communities, philanthropists are lauded on the day. They are acknowledged for their many important contributions, support, and charitable deeds.

While philanthropy is giving and receiving, it is also a form of gift that seeks to replace social ills with solutions. Philanthropists see problems and strive to solve them. For a temporary problem, charity is often a temporary solution. If the condition persists, we seek a cure. There are instances of philanthropy that may have echoes with instances of charity. The difference is that charity helps people cope with the pains of social problems, while philanthropy seeks to solve those problems at their root causes.
