National Virginia Day

We began honoring each state in the order they were born in the union, beginning with Hawaii and ending with Hawaii on Independence Day. We've chosen a small piece of each state's past, foods, and the people who make up the state. There's so much more to discover, but we can't help but celebrate our beautiful country even more.

In the west stretch south and east, swamps and islands are visible in the west stretch, as well as swamps and islands. The population is as diverse as the scenery, too. The state's rich history and topography creates unique and unforgettable experiences, from the picturesque small towns of the Old Dominion state to burgeoning cities and cavernous valleys.

The Virginia Commonwealth's closeness to Washington, D.C., makes it convenient for government commuters and tourism to the nation capital. Many of our country's headquarters can be found in Virginia, including the Central Intelligence Agency, National Fish and Wild Life Service, and the Department of Defense. Several of these departments can be found in the Pentagon's world-largest office building. In fact, more Virginians work for the US government than in any other state.

We explore the people, the places, and the flavors that have existed long before European settlers arrived on National Virginia Day.
