Parks are an integral part of improving public health. They're a place to play, exercise, and commune with nature. They promote healthy and flourishing communities. Communities are also shielded from the climate impacts. And yet, 100 million people, including 28 million children, do not have access to a quality park within a 10-minute walk from home.

This is not just a green space celebration, but it is a call to action for cities to ensure that everyone around the United States has access to a quality park within a 10-minute walk of their house.

As part of this national day, walk to your local park and encourage your neighborhood to invest more public parks and green spaces.''
