November 9th is Microtia Awareness, National Louisiana, National Scrapple, World Adoption, World Freedom and more!
Microtia Awareness Day
Microtia Awareness Day, November 9th, dedicates November 9th to raising awareness and understanding of a congenital disorder, which derives its name from Latin words for little ears. Mark the calendar and consider the number 9 as the shape of an ear.
National Louisiana Day
We began honoring each state in the order they were born in the union, beginning with Hawaii and ending with Hawaii on Independence Day. We've chosen a small piece of each state's past, foods, and the people who make up the state. There's so much more to discover, but we can't help but celebrate our beautiful country even more.
National Scrapple Day
The first pork dish to be invented in the United States was recognized on National Scrapple Day, November 9th. For those not familiar with scrapple, it is traditionally a mush of pork scraps and trimmings mixed with cornmeal, wheat flour, and spices, such as sage, thyme, savory, and black pepper. It is also known as sage, thyme, savory, and black pepper. The mush is then turned into a semi-solid loaf, sliced and pan-fried.
World Adoption Day
Every year on November 9th, World Adoption Day encourages adoptees to share their stories. It's also a day for adoptive parents to network with others and reflect on their adoption journeys.
World Freedom Day
On November 9th each year, the Berlin Wall's fall is commemorated each year. This historic event in Central and Eastern Europe signaled the end of communism in Central and Eastern Europe.
