Pans/pandas Awareness Day

Nearly 1 in 200 children are diagnosed with Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndromes (PANS) and Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Related to Streptococcal Infections in the United States, according to PANDAS. On October 9th, PANS/Panda Awareness Day will continue to raise awareness, education, and assistance to those affected by the condition.

Following a strep, bacterial, or viral infection, PANS and PANDAS symptoms appear quickly. PANS and PANDAS are often associated with sudden infections. The signs include:: The symptoms include::

  • tics
  • Compulsive Disorder (OCD) appears in a flash. Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder is the onset of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder at the time
  • Skills that have been deteriorating in training have been deteriorated
  • People are starting to avoid foods and becoming more specific in the foods they will eat, and becoming more selective in the foods they will eat
  • anxiety
  • depression
  • Reduced success at school has harmed students' academic achievement.
  • Touch and sound are both tactile and vocal, with touch and sound being alert
  • sleep changes
  • hyperactivity
  • Uncontrolled movements that are uncontrolled can be triggered by uncontrolled movements
  • Rheumatic pain

PANDAS is often misdiagnosed. e.g. The signs can either diminish or remit. However, relapse occurs as time goes on, increasing in duration and severity.. Repeat infections and environmental triggers are two of the relapse's common causes of relapse. Early diagnosis can result in long-term remission.

Antibiotics, intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg), and plasmapheresis are among other drugs used in other therapies.

To improve early diagnosis and treatment, early diagnosis and care must be enhanced by more study. Doctors can now have more information about the condition, and research will also help physicians better understand it.. Everyone should learn more about the condition, recognize the signs, and assist families with a loved one with PANDAS. PANDAS Awareness Day is an annual event that takes place in the United States.
