September 3th is National Cinema, National Welsh Rarebit, U.s. Bowling League and more!
National Cinema Day
National Cinema Day, September 3 in the United States, honors movie enthusiasts around the country and encourages them to return to the theater and enjoy a movie on the big screen.
National Welsh Rarebit Day
On September 3rd, National Welsh Rarebit Day whips up a delectable and hearty snack. What is a rare bit? Since there is no rabbit in the dish, the cheesy toast was originally called Rabbit in a tongue-in-cheek way in Welsh words. The Welsh rarebit does not contain rabbit, similar to mock turtle soup but without a turtle in it. This dish is instead made with toast that has hot cheese poured over it. The dish became known as Welsh Rarebit over time, a nod to the inside joke.
U.s. Bowling League Day
On September 3rd, each year league bowlers from around the country commemorated U.S. Bowling League Day.
