Universal Hour of Peace is a movement toward a war-free world from 11:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. on January 1st each year.

During the hour of observance, the day encourages the promotion of peaceful activities.

An hour of peace is being celebrated around the world by organisations around the world. Any include prayer, music, poetry, or speeches. Although gatherings may be large or small, the aim overall will be to spread the word of peace in every heart and mind, regardless of faith.

  • An event to be held to discuss bringing us closer to peace

History has a universal hour of peace

Dr. Barbara Condron of the School of Metaphysics initiated the first Universal Hour of Peace. On October 24, 1995, the world commemorated the first Universal Hour of Peace... It fell on the 50th anniversary of the United Nations and the autumnal equinox.. Noon GMT, January 1st, the following year, it was moved to January 1st at Noon GMT. From 11:30 p.m., it is now celebrated..m. m. on December 31st to 12:30 a.m., a.m. January 1st is the first day of January 1st.'
