When is Australia Day?

On January 26th, Australians commemorate the day their country was established as a British colony in 1788. The first governor of New South Wales, Andrew Cove, arrived in Sydney Cove on this date and raised the first-ever Union Jack flag.

If you think of Australia, you'd probably think of kangaroos and koala bears. You might also consider the Sydney Opera House or the Great Barrier Reef. Movies such as Crocodile Dundee or Finding Nemo may come to mind. However, Australia and Australia are much more than that..
