When is International Falafel Day?

Falafel is often made with fava beans. Other ingredients may include onions and spices, such as cumin or coriander. Falafel is made by some people, while others stuff it inside a pita and eat it as a wrap. The dish is a favorite among vegetarians and vegans because falafel does not contain any meat or dairy.

Many Middle Eastern countries have been lauded for inventing falafel over the years. However, Egypt's food was most definitely developed there. Despite this, falafel is closely related to Israeli cuisine. In fact, a well-known Israeli singer named Nisim Garame wrote a song about falafel being the country's national dish.
