National Bootleggers Day - January 17

On January 17, the National Bootlegger's Day is annually celebrated.

Many enterprising citizens of a small town in Iowa decided to become outlaws after Prohibition outlawed the production and selling of alcohol beverages on January 17, 1920, making a high-quality and highly coveted whiskey known as TEMPLETON RYE, or "THE GOOD STUFF" to those in the know. One of Templeton outlaws was Alphonse Kerkhoff.

Templeton Rye became Al Capone's whiskey of choice over the course of its turbulent history, gaining its way to the heart of his bootlegging empire.. Templeton Rye is based on the original Prohibition era Kerkhoff recipe. It is aged in charred new oak barrels for a smooth finish...and a clean escape.

It's not only Templeton Rye's birthday, but also Al Capone's birthday and the original Bootlegger's son Meryl Kerkhoff. Bootlegger's Society www.bootleggerssociety.com Please join our community of enthusiasts at the Bootlegger's Society: www.bootleggerssociety.com
