When is National Idaho Day?

Wednesday May 17th

We began honoring each state in the order they were born in the union, beginning with Hawaii and ending with Hawaii on Independence Day. We've chosen a small piece of each state's past, foods, and the people who make up the state. There's so much more to discover, but we can't help but celebrate our beautiful country even more.

The Rocky Mountains range dominates the state. Snake River winds its way through the state's rugged western border, which has the country's deepest river gorge in North America. Views of the stunning landscapes the Snake River took thousands of years to sculpt at Hells Canyon National Recreation Area. The Snake River's dramatic landscapes were difficult to sculpt.

Idaho does not lack scenery, as shown by the photo above. Take any byway, and the next turn will bring a whole new world view to view. For example, the Craters of the Moon National Monument & Preserve will erupt before your eyes... This vast lava field originated from ancient volcanic eruptions.

When exploring Idaho, don't forget to look into Hagerman's Fossil Beds. Paleontologists have been fascinated by the excavations of these well-preserved fossils for generations. If an equine passion exists, be sure to investigate the Hagerman Horse as well!
