A mule is a cross between a male donkey (jack) and a female horse, which is a hybrid cross. The animal inherits characteristics from both parents as a hybrid.. The mule has the ability, intelligence, patience, perseverance, endurance, staminance, sure-footedness, and even the donkey's temper. The mule inherits the mule's beauty, athletic ability, perseverance, vigor, and speed from the horse. In addition, mules seem to require less food than a horse of similar size.
