When is National Wyoming Day?

We began honoring each state in the order they were born in the union, beginning with Hawaii and ending with Hawaii on Independence Day. We've chosen a small piece of each state's past, foods, and the people who make up the state. There's so much more to discover, but we can't help but celebrate our beautiful country even more.

The 44th state to join the union, Wyoming's territory led the nation and the world in protecting women's right to vote. The governor signed the bill on December 10, 1869, when the Wyoming territorial legislature passed a bill allowing women the right in 1869. Wyoming will endorse the first state constitution that protects women's suffrage, twenty years later. In 1870, they would be granted statehood.

Equality had real meaning, true grit, in a large open world where homesteaders had to rely on one another, man or woman. Wyoming became a state on July 10, 1890, when it was established on July 10, 1890.'
