Sjogren's Syndrome affects millions of people around the world. The two key signs of this immune system disorder are dry eyes and dry throat. The immune system attacks the cells that produce saliva and tears with Sjogren's. Sjogren's can cause problems in other areas of the body in addition to affecting the mouth and eyes. This includes the thyroid, kidneys, liver, lungs, and nerves. Chronic illness is often associated with other health conditions, such as lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. b.
