When is World Vitiligo Day?
Sunday June 25thWorld Vitiligo Day, every year on June 25th, commemorates the lives of those with vitiligo. It's also a day to raise global awareness of this skin disease.
Vitiligo is a disease that causes a lack of pigment cells called melanocytes. Melanocytes are the product of a pigment cell loss. Vitiligo has affected up to 1% of the world's population. Although it affects both genders and ethnic groups, it is most noticeable in those with darker skin. People aged between the ages of 20 and 30 are often seen in Vitiligo.
