World Contraception Day - September 26
Tue Sep 26th

World Contraception Day

Every year, World Contraception Day, September 26th, raises concerns about abortion and safe sex. The day also teaches younger generations how to make informed decisions about sexual health.

Birth control is considered by many to be a relatively recent innovation. However, both men and women as early as 3000 BC used various methods to prevent pregnancy. Ancient Egyptian men in 3000 BC had invented the first condom. Women in 1850 BC were using a pessary to prevent pregnancy. evice was implanted inside the vagina to kill sperm. A concoction of crocodile dung, honey, and sodium carbonate was found in the pessary..

Throughout the years, many others have attempted to produce their own contraception. People also used Lysol to stop pregnancy because they were prescribed (that should never be used on or inside the body). The FDA approved the first birth control pill in 1960. Nevertheless, the first forms of oral birth control were accompanied by high doses of blood clots. Since then, the pill has been perfected and is now one of the most common methods of condomation for women. ubal ligation is the most common method women avoid pregnancy. tubal ligation is the most common method used to prevent pregnancy. Around 219 million women around the world use this method, also known as getting "tubes tied." Other condoms, IUD, and the tablet are among the many condoms, IUD, and the pill among the contraceptive drugs that have over 100 million users around the world.

Other than preventing pregnancy, one form of condomulation also protects sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than a million STDs are reported every day. chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, and trichomoniasis are all common disorders that physicians treat each year. All of these STDs are prevented by condoms and abstinence.

#worldcontraceptionday is the world's biggest surveillance day

On this day, family planning organizations host activities to inform the general public on the importance of contraception. These organizations also provide free condoms to people who are becoming aware of the various forms of condoms. The activities also included family-planning-themed trivia, person-on-the-street interviews about family planning, displays of condoms worldwide, and contraceptive-themed costume parties.
