World Softball Day
Every year on June 13th, World Softball Day celebrates this exciting team sport. In addition, the day aims to encourage future generations of girls and boys to be empowered by sport.
Softball was invented in 1887 by George Hancock, a Chicago Board of Trade reporter, who invented softball in 1887. Softball was first introduced as an indoor sport. In fact, softball was even called indoor baseball. It was also called mushball or kittenball when it was played.
Softball in the United States was organized in 1933 by the Amateur Softball Association of America (ASAA). Men were the first to play the game. Women began playing softball as a result of ASAA's associating it. According to reports, American servicemen in WWII helped spread the sport to the rest of the world. These servicemen served in various countries where they served. These servicemen served and taught the sport.
In 1965, the International Softball Federation (ISF) was established. The International governing bodies are split up of 127 national governing bodies at Plant City, Florida, and the ICF has its global headquarters and training center.
A film called "A Touch of Class" in 1973 helped the sport to become a hit in the United Kingdom. Softball will be added to the Summer Olympics in Birmingham, England, on June 13th, 1991. During the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, Softball was played for the first time. The United States received the gold medal for the sport in the 1996 Olympics, as well as the 2000 Sydney Olympics and the 2004 Athens Olympics. In the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Japan claimed the gold medal in softball. Softball was not represented in the Summer Olympics in 2012 or in 2016. Softball was not represented during the Summer Olympics in 2012 or 2016. The sport is scheduled to be played during the Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

History has been written about the world softball day in the United States
In February 1965 in Melbourne, Australia, the first-ever world softball championship was played. Throughout 2005, the ISF commemorated the 40th anniversary of the first championship tournament in the United States. On June 13th, 2005, Don Porter, then president of the ISF at the time, declared the day as World Softball Day. Softball will be included in the Summer Olympics on June 13th, the date it was announced softball would be included in the Summer Olympics. Every year since 2005, World Softball Day has been held every year.
